IN THIS SEVEN-BOOK BOXSET:
THE APARTMENT MURDER
Chairman Eileen O’Hara turns to Eric Ward for help. Rivals are bidding for control of her company. Who will she choose? Eric digs deep into their murky pasts. He expected to uncover corruption, but never murder. Can he unravel their web of lies before anyone else dies?

THE SPANISH VILLA MURDER
On Spanish soil, a man breaks into a villa to steal something very precious. He will stop at nothing to get it. Meanwhile, back in England, Eric Ward is hunting for a missing businessman. Little does he suspect where the trail will lead — straight into the crosshairs of a professional killer.

THE MARRIAGE MURDER
Eric Ward thinks he is happily married — until he discovers his wife, Anne, has grown close to another man. Devastated, Ward finds comfort in the arms of a beautiful stranger. But then his lover is found murdered. Who wanted her dead?

THE WASTEFUL MURDER
Ward can’t help but be suspicious when his newest client is killed in an explosion. Joe “Nightwalker” Paulson devoted hours to combing through the bins of the great and good. He gathered their secrets — and a list of powerful enemies. Who feared him enough to kill him?

THE PHANTOM MURDER
To Ward’s surprise, he is hired by Goldwaters shipping firm. But no sooner has he accepted than their vessel, Sierra Nova, is “arrested”. The reason? A crew member stands accused of smuggling. Then he’s murdered en route to the courtroom. Conspiracy, piracy, murder — what has Ward gotten himself into this time?

THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE MURDER
A farmer gets an offer that he can’t refuse — cash for the use of his outbuilding. What does the tenant want with it? Farmer Fenton asks no questions, until a police raid uncovers a sinister operation. Desperate, Fenton calls on Eric Ward for help.

THE TATTOO MURDER
The killing of a would-be assassin in the Pyrenees — his skin marked with a disturbing tattoo. The disappearance of Eric Ward’s old rival Jason Sullivan. A shady construction magnate up in Newcastle. What connects these seamy characters? Ward is about to uncover the dark, dangerous truth behind their deeds.

ABOUT ERIC WARD
Eric Ward is forced to retire from the police because he suffers from glaucoma, but it’s not the end of his career. He qualifies as a solicitor (lawyer) and sets up a practice on Newcastle’s seamy Quayside. His ambitious young wife wishes he could work with wealthier clients in Northumberland, but Ward stubbornly refuses to give up his criminal practice in Newcastle.
